On August 5, 2025, at about 1:20 PM in General Santos City, operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 12 conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 42-year-old man, alias “Machon,” for coercing an 18-year-old girl into engaging in sexual activities through a social media platform.

“Machon” is facing charges for violation of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the operatives for the successful operation. He also stated, “The PNP ACG remains steadfast in pursuing and apprehending individuals who exploit sensitive content to threaten, harass, or coerce others. We strongly encourage victims to report such incidents and trust that justice will be served.”
