On July 21, 2025, at about 2:50 PM in Tacloban City, Leyte, operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 8, in coordination with the Tacloban City Social Welfare and Development Office, conducted an operation that resulted in the rescue of an 11-year-old girl, alias “Tisay,” following a report of online sexual abuse and exploitation.

The operation stemmed from a report from Cybertipline through the Department of Justiceโ€”Office of the Cybercrime for an alleged violation of RA No. 11930 (Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children or OSAEC and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials or CSAEM Act of 2022).

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the operatives for the successful rescue operation. โ€œThe PNP ACG will never waver in our fight against child abuse. Every child rescued is a step closer to a safer digital environment for all,โ€ he said.
