On August 1, 2025, at about 12:15 PM in Malabon City, operatives of the Women and Children Cybercrime Protection Unit, in coordination with the Malabon City Social Welfare and Development Office (Malabon CSWDO), conducted an operation that resulted in the rescue of a 7-year-old girl, alias “Lenlen,” following a complaint of child abuse committed online.

The rescued victim was referred to the (Malabon CSWDO) for psychological and medical assessment, evaluation, and appropriate intervention. Furthermore, WCCPU operatives will continue monitoring of the minor’s online activity as part of the ongoing case build up and for potential subsequent case filing.

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended operatives for the successful rescue operation. โ€œWe do not tolerate any form of child abuse, whether online or offline. The PNP ACG will remain relentless in pursuing those who exploit children and will continue to fight for a safe digital space for every child,โ€ he said.
