On August 3, 2025, at 6:33 PM in Mamdurriao, Iloilo City, operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 6 conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of an 18-year-old man, alias “Art,” for coercing and harassing a woman using explicit photos and videos through a social media platform.

“Art” is facing charges for violations of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code and RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009), both in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, lauded the unit for the successful operation. “Using the internet to harass, coerce, or violate someone’s privacy, such as through voyeurism, is a criminal act punishable by law. The PNP ACG urges everyone to use digital platforms responsibly and to report any form of online abuse or exploitation to the authorities,” he said.
