On August 06, 2025, at about 05:45 PM in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 13 conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 33-year-old man, alias “Lolong,” for the online sale of chainsaws without proper permits.

“Lolong” is facing charges for violation of RA No. 9175 (Chain Saw Act of 2002) in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the operatives for the successful operation. “The sale and use of chainsaws are strictly regulated under the law to prevent illegal logging and environmental harm. The PNP ACG will continue to monitor and act against those who violate these regulations, especially through online platforms,” he said.
