
On August 7, 2025, at 2:36 PM in Naga City, Camarines Sur, operatives of the Camarines Sur Provincial Cyber Response Team conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 21-year-old woman, alias “Cherry,” for the online sale of chainsaws without proper permits.
“Cherry” is facing charges for violation of RA No. 9175 (Chain Saw Act of 2002) in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the operatives for the successful operation. โThe sale and use of chainsaws are strictly regulated under the law to prevent illegal logging and environmental harm. The PNP ACG will continue to monitor and act against those who violate these regulations, especially through online platforms,โ he said.
