On July 31, 2025, at 1:10 PM in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit – Cordillera Administrative Region arrested a 31-year-old woman, alias “Karen,” pursuant to a warrant of arrest.

“Karen” is wanted for violation of RA No. 8484 (Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998) as amended by RA No. 11449, in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), with bail set at Php72,000.00.

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the unit for the successful operation. He also stated, “Cybercriminals who exploit access devices to defraud others will be held accountable. The PNP ACG is committed to protecting the public from digital deception, but we also count on citizens to be vigilant and report scams to prevent further victimization.”
