On August 5, 2025, at 8:12 AM in Pontevedra, Capiz, operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 6 arrested a 30-year-old man, alias “Jong,” pursuant to a warrant of arrest.

“Jong” is facing charges for violation of Section 4(c)4 (Libel) of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), with bail set at Php10,000.00.

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the unit for the successful operation. He also emphasized, “The PNP ACG reminds everyone to use digital platforms responsibly and lawfully. Online libel is a criminal offense, and we will continue to hold offenders accountable under the law,” he stated.
