On May 20, 2025, at about 5:00 PM, operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 6 (RACU 6) arrested a 21-year-old man, alias “Alexander,” who has a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court of San Jose, Antique.

The warrant emanated from a complaint filed by a victim, alias “Janessa,” at RACU 6 I n 2019. According to Janessa, she had a relationship with the suspect for years. During this relationship, Alexander repeatedly pressured her into engaging in video sex calls, which she reluctantly complied with. Without her knowledge, Alexander secretly recorded their intimate moments.

When the relationship ended, Alexander began harassing Janessa by creating a fake social media account under her name. Using this account, he posted malicious and degrading content about her and shared recordings of their private video calls with her friends and relatives.

The suspect is facing three counts of violation of RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009), in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), with bail set at Php50,000.00 each count.

This operation supports the directive of Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, PNP Chief, to ensure that anti-cybercrime laws are fully implemented and violators are held accountable.

Police Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), praised the Unit for the successful implementation of the warrant. He also stated, “Taking and sharing private images without consent of the concerned person is a serious crime that violates individual’s rights and sense of safety. The PNP ACG stands firm in protecting the privacy of every individual and making sure those who commit these crimes are brought to justice.”
