On May 18, 2025, at about 2:45 PM, operatives of the Quezon Provincial Cyber Response Team (Quezon PCRT), conducted an entrapment operation in Lucena City that led to the arrest of a 31-year-old man, alias “Macho,” for threatening and harassing his ex-girlfriend using explicit photos.
The operation stemmed from a complaint filed by a 22-year-old female victim, alias “Emmie,” against the suspect for using her identity in creating a dummy Facebook account and uploaded explicit photos of her without her consent and used them to threaten and manipulate her.
The suspect later contacted the victim and convinced her to meet in person under the pretense of deleting the explicit content from his account and mobile phone. This meeting became the setting for the entrapment operation, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
“Macho” is facing charges for violations of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code, RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009), and RA No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004), all in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), and Section 4(b)3 (Computer-Related Identity Theft) of RA No. 10175.
The operation is part of the PNP’s ongoing campaign, under the directive of PNP Chief, Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, to intensify actions against all forms of cybercrime and promote public safety in the digital environment. Police Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), commended the PCRT for their swift response in arresting the suspect. “We are committed to protecting victims and holding cyber offenders accountable. We urge everyone to be vigilant and to report any form of online harassment, threats, or abuse to the nearest ACG office. Together, we can create a safer and more respectful digital space,” he said.
