On May 21, 2025, at about 3:20 PM in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, operatives of the Bukidnon Provincial Cyber Response Team (Bukidnon PCRT) conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 19-year-old man, alias “Mak-Mak,” for sharing videos with explicit content of himself and his ex-girlfriend online.

The operation stemmed from the complaint of a 22-year-old female victim, alias “Lovely,” against the suspect, who was her former boyfriend. When their relationship ended, without the complainant’s consent or knowledge, “Mak-Mak” illegally accessed the victim’s Facebook account and posted their explicit videos on her “Facebook MyDay.” He then demanded a personal meeting in exchange for not posting more of these explicit materials.

“Mak-Mak” is facing charges for violations of RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009) and RA No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), both in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

The operation supports the directive of Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, Chief of the PNP, to strengthen cyber patrolling and take immediate legal action to ensure that cybercriminals do not have a place on social media platforms. Police Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), commended the operatives for the successful operation. “The PNP ACG remains steadfast in its mission to protect the public from online abuse and harassment. We will not rest until those who exploit and threaten others are held accountable,” he added.
