On May 30, 2025, at 10:51 AM, operatives of the Nueva Ecija Provincial Cyber Response Team (PCRT) conducted an entrapment operation in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija that led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man, alias “Tyrone,” for threatening and harassing his wife with their explicit videos.

The entrapment operation stemmed from a complaint filed by alias “Rose,” a 34-year-old wife of the suspect. According to her, she discovered that her husband was still in contact with his paramour. Consequently, she removed his access to all her social media accounts. This made the suspect to accuse her of having an affair with her boss. He then began threatening to distribute their intimate videos to her co-workers unless she restored his access to her accounts.

Out of fear, “Rose” gave her password to her husband however, the latter was unsatisfied and escalated the harassment by sending a screenshot from one of their explicit videos to her co-workers. He then demanded to meet him at a hotel, or else, he would send more trace of their intimate moments to her co-workers.

“Tyrone” is facing charges for violations of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of Revised Penal Code, RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009), and RA No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), and RA No. 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012), all in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).         Police Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), commended the Nueva Ecija PCRT for the successful operation. He also stated, “The PNP ACG is dedicated to ensuring that those responsible for online abuse are brought to justice. We encourage the public to report such crimes and work with us to protect individuals from harassment.”
