On June 4, 2025, at about 5:00 PM, operatives of the Cavite Provincial Cyber Response Team conducted an entrapment operation in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, that led to the arrest of a 26-year-old woman, alias “Clara,” for coercion and spreading her ex-partner’s explicit videos online.
The operation stemmed from a complaint filed by a 36-year-old man, alias “Pogi,” at the Cavite PCRT against his former paramour. According to the victim, after their illicit relationship to reconcile with his legal wife, Clara became upset. She then gained unauthorized access to his Facebook account and retrieved intimate videos involving him and his legal spouse.
According to the report, Clara subsequently sent one of the explicit videos to the victim’s 15-year-old daughter, causing significant emotional distress to the minor. She also threatened to release more of the private content unless he agreed to meet and reconcile with her.
“Clara” is facing charges for violations of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code, RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009), RA No. 11313 (Safe Spaces Act of 2019), in relation to RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
The operation supports the directive of Police General Nicolas D Torre III, Chief of the Philippine National Police, to strengthen cybercrime prevention strategies and uphold public safety in digital spaces.
Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the team for the successful operation. He also stated, “The PNP ACG is here to protect your rights and ensure that those who commit these crimes are held fully accountable. We encourage the public, regardless of gender, age, or background, to report such crimes so that appropriate action can be taken.”
