On June 22, 2025, at about 9:00 PM in Pulilan, Bulacan, operatives of the Nueva Ecija Provincial Cyber Response Team (NEPCRT) conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 25-year-old man, alias “Dan,” for threatening and harassing his ex-girlfriend with explicit videos.

The operation stemmed from a complaint filed by a 25-year-old woman, alias “Tala,” against the suspect who is her ex-boyfriend. According to Tala, after ending their relationship, Dan persistently harassed her on social media by threatening to post nude photos he had illegally obtained through unauthorized access to her social media accounts. Additionally, he threatened to harm her family if she should not reconcile with him.

Prior to the entrapment operation, the suspect demanded to meet Tala in person and coerced her into having sexual activities with him in exchange for deleting the explicit videos.

“Dan” is facing charges for violations of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code, RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009), RA No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), all in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), Section 4(a)(1) (Illegal Access) of RA No. 10175, and Presidential Decree No. 9 (Illegal Possession of Bladed Weapon).

This operation supports the directive of Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, PNP Chief, to ensure that cybercrime laws are fully implemented and violators are promptly penalized.

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), commended the NEPCRT for the successful operation. He also stated, “Using intimate content to threaten or exploit others is a grave offense. The PNP ACG remains firm in its mission to protect victims and ensure that abusers are held accountable. We urge everyone to speak out, report these crimes, and help break the cycle of online harassment.”
