On July 5, 2025, at 4:51 PM in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, operatives of the Bukidnon Provincial Cyber Response Team (PCRT) conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 55-year-old man, alias “Domeng,” for harassing and threatening his former live-in partner using explicit photos and videos.
The operation stemmed from a complaint filed by a 24-year-old woman, alias “Gem,” against the suspect, who was her ex-live in partner. According to the victim, the suspect recorded their intimate moments without her knowledge. When she ended the relationship in June 2025 due to his abusive behavior, he began contacting her again, seeking reconciliation.
When Gem refused to rekindle the relationship, Domeng allegedly began threatening to release their sex videos. He initially sent a screenshot of one of the videos to her family and friends and threatened to circulate the full footage if she continued to reject him. He later coerced her into meeting with him using the videos.
Domeng is facing charges for violations of Article 282 (Grave Threat) of the Revised Penal Code, RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism of 2009), and RA No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), and RA No. 11313 (Safe Spaces Act of 2019), all in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
The operation aligns with the directive of Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, Chief of the PNP, to provide swift and responsive public service, ensuring public safety in the cyber environment.
Police Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the Bukidnon PCRT for their swift response in arresting the suspect. “This operation reflects the efforts of the Anti-Cybercrime Group to eliminate cybercriminals, especially on social media platforms like Facebook. I encourage the public to report any internet-related crimes to our offices nationwide so we can act promptly and create a safer cyberspace,” he said.
