On July 17, 2025, at 3:28 PM in Sampaloc, Manila, the operatives of the Manila District Anti-Cybercrime Team of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 21-year-old college student, alias “Lupe,” for harassing and coercing his teenage ex-girlfriend using explicit photos and videos.
According to the victim, she met Lupe through a social media platform, and they eventually entered into a romantic relationship. During their time together, the suspect secretly recorded their sexual activities without her consent or knowledge.
When the victim discovered the existence of the recordings, she immediately confronted Lupe and demanded to delete them. While the suspect appeared to comply, it was later revealed that he had created backup copies without her knowledge.
As their relationship deteriorated due to Lupe’s abusive behavior, the victim decided to end it. However, the suspect disagreed and began threatening her. He warned that he would distribute their intimate videos online if she left him.
Prior to the operation, the victim received a series of threatening messages from Lupe, pressuring her to meet him in person for sexual favors, under the threat of uploading her nude videos to social media platforms and pornographic websites. Despite her pleas, the suspect persisted, prompting the victim to seek help from authorities.
“Lupe” is facing charges for violations of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code, RA No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), and RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism of 2009), all in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
This operation supports the directive of Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, Chief PNP, to ensure that anti-cybercrime laws are fully implemented and violators are promptly penalized. Police Colonel Andres O. Simbajon, Jr. Officer-In-Charge of the PNP ACG, commended MDACT for the successful operation. He also stated, “Let this serve as a warning to those who exploit others online, your actions will not go unpunished. The PNP ACG is actively tracking down offenders and using every legal means to hold them accountable.”
