
On July 22, 2025, at about 1:50 AM in Daraga, Albay, operatives of the Camarines Sur Provincial Cyber Response Team conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 39-year-old man, alias “Tupe,” for harassing and coercing a woman using explicit photos and videos.
“Tupe” is facing charges for violations of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code and Section 5(i) of RA 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), both in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
During the arrest, a piece of a USMK2 hand fragmentation grenade HE was recovered from the suspect, resulting in an additional charge for violation of RA No. 9516 (Unlawful Manufacture, Sales, Acquisition, Disposition, Importation, or Possession of an Explosive or Incendiary Device).
Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the operatives for the successful operation. He also stated, βThe PNP ACG is dedicated to ensuring that those responsible for online abuse are held accountable. We encourage the public to report such crimes and cooperate with us to protect individuals from such acts.β
