On July 24, 2025, at about 1:45 PM in General Trias City, Cavite, operatives of the Women and Children Cybercrime and Protection Unit conducted an operation that resulted in the rescue of a 16-year-old boy, alias “Rus,” from an alleged child abuse committed through social media platform.

The minor victim was referred to the City Social Welfare and Development Office for psychological evaluation and assessment for possible case buildup.

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended operatives for the successful rescue operation. “We do not tolerate any form of child abuse. The PNP ACG will remain relentless in pursuing those who exploit children and will continue to fight for a safe digital space for every child,” he said.
