
On July 25, 2025, the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 10 (RACU 10) successfully conducted back-to-back operations in Initao and Naawan, Misamis Oriental, targeting online child sexual abuse, exploitation, and human trafficking which led to the arrest of a 41-year-old woman, alias โKurdapya,โ and the rescue of ten victims, including six minors, who were allegedly trafficked and exploited online.
“Kurdapya” is facing charges for violations of RA No. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act), RA 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Person Act of 2003) as amended by RA No. 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Person Act of 2012), further amended by RA No. 11862 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Person Act of 2022) and RA 11930 (Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children or OSAEC and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials or CSAEM Act of 2022), all in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the operatives for the successful operation and rescue of the victim. โThose who exploit and harm children will face the full force of the law. We urge the public to report any suspicious activities to help protect the most vulnerable,โ he also added.
