On July 27, 2025, at about 6:30 PM in Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya, operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 2 conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 33-year-old man, alias “Dam,” for the online sale of a chainsaw without proper permits.
“Dam” is facing charges for violation of RA No. 9175 (Chain Saw Act of 2002) in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the operatives for the successful operation. โSelling regulated equipment like chainsaws without the necessary permits threatens both safety and environmental protection. The PNP ACG is committed to combating these illegal online activities and urges the public to help by reporting such violations to authorities for appropriate action,โ he said.
