On July 29, 2025, at 4:09 PM in Legazpi City, Albay, operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 5 conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 29-year-old man, alias “Miro,” for committing grave coercion through a social media platform.

“Miro” is facing charges for violation of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the operatives for the successful operation. “The PNP ACG stands firm in ensuring that those who misuse technology to intimidate others will be held accountable. Let us work together to make the internet a space for respect and lawful conduct,” he added.
