On August 4, 2025, at 5:47 PM in Tacloban City, Leyte, operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 8 arrested a 28-year-old man, alias “Juan,” pursuant to a warrant of arrest.

“Juan” is wanted for violation of Article 315 (Swindling/Estafa) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended the operatives for their continued dedication to tracking down and apprehending wanted persons. He also highlighted, “This arrest demonstrates our commitment to bringing cybercriminals to justice. The PNP ACG remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard the public from online scams and uphold the rule of law,” he stated.
