On June 24, 2025, at 1:08 PM in Iloilo City, operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 6 (RACU 6) conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 30-year-old construction worker, alias “Dino,” for harassing and coercing his former partner using explicit videos.

The operation steamed from a complaint filed at RACU 6 office by the suspect’s previous girlfriend. According to the victim, during their relationship, they engaged in an intimate video calls, unaware that the suspect secretly recorded her while performing sexual acts in front of camera.

After the victim ended the relationship due to personal differences, the suspect created a social media group chat that included the victim’s relatives. Dino then shared screen recordings of the explicit videos with the group in an attempt to harass and humiliate her.

When the victim confronted the suspect and requested to stop distributing the videos, he threatened to release more of her recordings unless she agreed to meet and engage in another sexual activity.

“Dino” is facing charges for violations of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code, RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009), and RA No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), all in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

This operation supports the directive of Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, Chief of the PNP, to ensure that cybercrime laws are fully implemented and violators are promptly penalized. Police Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended  RACU 6 for the successful operation. He also stated, “Using private content to threaten or control someone is a serious crime and a grave violation of personal dignity. The PNP ACG remains committed to protecting victims of online abuse and bringing perpetrators to justice. We urge everyone to report sextortion and similar crimes immediately to help us stop the cycle of exploitation.”
