PNP ACG arrested online predator during an entrapment operation on May 23, 2017 at about 5:00 PM led by the PSINSP ERROL LLOYD R ADIA, Asst. Supervisor, WCPS, COTD in coordination with the Southern Police District at Western Bicutan, Taguig City.

Arrested suspect was identified as Bryan Bustamante y Casiple, 31 years old, single, jobless, a resident of Bldg., 3 Room 112, Centennial Village, Western Bicutan, Taguig City after receiving the Three Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (3,500.00) extorted money at Centennial Village Western, Bicutan, Taguig City.

Police Senior Superintendent RONALDO DE JESUS said that the entrapment operation stemmed from the complaint of Mrs. Rose in behalf of her 12 year old daughter. The suspect coerced, threatened and extorted the victim for the recovery of her hacked Facebook account and for not broadcasting her nude photos, the official further said.

Seized and recovered in the possession and control of the suspect were 1 Lenovo TAB 2 A7-30HC; and Three thousand five hundred pesos (Php 3,500.00).

The suspect will be charged for violations of Article 294 of RPC (Robbery with violence or intimidation of persons) in relation to RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), Sec 4 b(3) (Computer related Identity Theft) of RA 10175, RA 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009) and RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act), and RA 8792 (E-Commerce Act of 2000). The case will be forwarded to the DOJ Prosecutors’ Office in Ermita, Manila through inquest proceeding.

PSSUPT DE JESUS recommends to the parents not to allow their children to use social media because there are many online predators who are victimizing young girls on the Internet, the official said. These online predators are using fake accounts pretending to be a girl or boy and looking for online friends, he further said.
