Two sexual online predators were nabbed yesterday on two separate occasions in entrapment operations conducted by the “Kasurog” cybercops of Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 5 (RACU 5) and Eastern District Anti-Cybercrime Team (EDACT).

The first suspect, identified as DESFER J. BIANDILLA, 26 from Pangasinan was arrested by the elements of EDACT at around 12:10 AM of July 20, 2022 in Pasig City. According to Police Major Ely D Compuesto II, the Team Leader of EDACT, the arrest of the suspect emanated from the complaint of the victim wherein she narrated that she was receiving online threats from several dummy Facebook (FB) accounts which she believed were created by the suspect.

On July 19, 2022, the suspect called the victim through his mobile phone and threatened her that if she will not come to his place, he will spread their sex videos online. The victim confirmed that the suspect was the one and the same person who threatened her upon their meet up. Upon the consummation of the crime, EDACT operatives immediately arrested the suspect who yielded: a) one unit of black Samsung with sim card; and b) one unit of white Samsung basic phone with sim card. Charges for violations of RA No. 9262 (Violence against Women and Their Children), Art. 282 (Grave Threat) of the Revised Penal Code (RPC), both in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012) are being prepared against the suspect.

On the same day at around 1:30 PM, the second suspect identified as ARVIN RAMOS GERMEDIA, 41 from Sorsogon City was arrested by the joint operatives of RACU 5 and Sorsogon City Police Station at a supermarket in Sorsogon City.

According to Police Colonel Dennis R Rellata, Chief of RACU 5, the case emanated from the complaint of the victim that the suspect secretly took photos and videos of her while naked inside a comfort room. Thereafter, the suspect used these as leverage against the victim to compel her to meet up with him and have sex. The suspect also threatened the victim that he will expose her explicit photos and videos online if she does not comply. Acting on the complaint, the “Kasurog” cybercops immediately launched an entrapment operation which led to his arrest and confiscation of: a) one unit of Oppo A3s mobile phone with simcard; b) one unit of Samsung Galaxy with sim card; and c) one maroon Suzuki Alto motor vehicle. The suspect will be facing charges for violations of RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009) and Art. 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Sec. 6 of RA No. 10175. He is now under the custody of Sorsogon City Police Station for booking procedures prior to the conduct of inquest proceedings.

“I commend our operatives on the ground for these accomplishments. Ang agarang pagsadya ng biktima sa aming tanggapan ay nagbunga sa mabilisang pagkaaresto ng mga suspects. Muli po nating pinapaalalahanan ang ating mga kababayan na huwag pong magpapadala ng maseselang larawan o video sa mga taong nakilala lang natin sa online, sapagkat maaari nila itong gamitin upang takutin at kontrolin ang kanilang biktima upang maisakatuparan ang kanilang masamang layunin.” - PBGEN BOWENN JOEY M MASAUDING, THE OFFICER-IN-CHARGE OF PNP-ACG said.
