WITH the opening of regular classes in the country today, the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) has renewed its call on the public to fully cooperate with them in going against ‘sextortion’ syndicates who prey on both the young and the old, students included as they use Facebook and other social media.

CYBERCOPS from the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) on Tuesday afternoon arrested a female college student for ‘identity theft’ in Quezon City where she posed as either celebrity Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan or her children to extort money from the friends and supporters of the Pangilinan family, PNP-ACG director, Senior Superintendent Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar announced today.

CYBERCOPS from the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group on early Saturday morning arrested another college student for ‘sextortion’ in Quezon City, the latest to be arrested for enticing individuals to pose naked before the webcam and later demanding money from the victims while threatening to download their indecent pictures on the internet, PNP-ACG director, Senior Superintendent Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar said today.
