On July 22, 2025, at about 1:50 AM in Daraga, Albay, operatives of the Camarines Sur Provincial Cyber Response Team (CamSur PCRT) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) conducted an entrapment operation that resulted in the arrest of a 39-year-old man, alias “Tupe,” for harassing and coercing a woman using explicit photos and videos.

The operation was initiated following a complaint filed by a 38-year-old woman at CamSur PCRT. According to the complainant, she and the suspect entered into a relationship in May 2025, which she ended after more than a month due to the latter’s manipulative behavior.

After their breakup, the suspect reportedly refused to accept the separation and began damaging the victim’s reputation by posting her personal details, including private photos and videos, on social media. Despite repeated pleas to stop, the harassment persisted.

On July 21, 2025, the suspect allegedly uploaded more compromising images, including copies of the victim’s identification cards, and used them to impersonate her online. He continued to harass her with threats, blackmail, and verbal abuse in an attempt to force her to reconcile with him and meet in person.

Unable to endure the persistent harassment, the victim sought assistance from the CamSur PCRT, whose operatives acted promptly, leading to the arrest of the suspect.

“Tupe” is facing charges for violations of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code and Section 5(i) of RA No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), both in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

During the arrest, one piece of USMK2 hand fragmentation grenade HE was recovered from the suspect, resulting in an additional charge for violation of RA No. 9516 (Unlawful Manufacture, Sales, Acquisition, Disposition, Importation, or Possession of an Explosive or Incendiary Device).

This operation supports the pillars of Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, Chief of the PNP, to ensure that anti-cybercrime laws are fully implemented and violators are promptly penalized.

Police Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP ACG, commended the operatives for the successful operation. He also stressed to the public, “We call on everyone to stay vigilant, to never tolerate any form of coercion or threats, and to report such incidents to the nearest ACG office so we can act swiftly and hold offenders accountable.”
