On April 2, 2025, at 10:30 AM in Cagayan de Oro City, operatives of Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 10 (RACU 10) carried out an entrapment operation that resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old male suspect, alias “Hari,” for sharing explicit photos and videos of his ex-girlfriend.

The operation stemmed from the report of a 25-year-old woman, identified as “Lynn,” that the suspect had repeatedly shared explicit videos of their sexual activities by uploading it on Facebook. The suspect demanded sexual favors in exchange for deleting the explicit materials.

The suspect is facing charges for violations of RA 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act), RA 11313 (Safe Spaces Act), and RA 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004), all in relation to Section 6 of RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

This operation aligns with the directive of Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, Chief of the PNP, to ensure that anti-cybercrime laws are fully implemented and violators are promptly penalized.

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, the Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), praised RACU 10 for their successful operation. He stated, “This serves as a warning to all cybercriminals exploiting social media for harassment and blackmailing. The PNP ACG is continuously working to track down offenders and ensure they face justice.”
