On April 4, 2025, at 9:00 AM, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director, celebrated its 12th Founding Anniversary themed, “Empowering Online Communities Towards a Cyber-Resilient Environment” at the Multi-Purpose Center, Camp BGen Camp Rafael T Crame, Quezon City, graced by Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, Chief, PNP.
The event was attended by personnel of the PNP ACG, led by its Command Group, Division and Unit Chiefs, as well as the heads of Regional Anti-Cybercrime Units and District Anti-Cybercrime Teams from across the nation. Distinguished guests from private sectors, government agencies, and both local and international organizations also joined the celebration.
The celebration highlighted the remarkable achievements of the PNP ACG throughout 2024, during which the Group conducted 614 police operations consisting of 257 warrants of arrest and 259 entrapment operations. These efforts led to the arrest of 606 suspects, 30 of whom were the most wanted persons.
It was also an opportunity to recognize individuals who demonstrated exceptional performance and dedication to their service. A total of 11 uniformed personnel were honored for their outstanding contributions, while 9 civilian individuals were acknowledged for their unwavering support of the Group.
In his speech, PGen Marbil commended the PNP ACG for its outstanding achievements over the past year. He affirmed the PNP’s fight against cybercrime, making it the top priority of the PNP. He also underscored the importance of enhancing technical capabilities and partnerships in this fight. “Keep enhancing your technical skills, raising public awareness, and strengthening partnerships. Cybercrime will only grow more complex, but with perseverance, innovation, and teamwork, we will stay ahead of those who seek to exploit the digital space,” he stated. PBGen Yang also lauded all the personnel of the PNP ACG for the successful celebration. He also encouraged everyone to renew their commitments in the service. “The past 12 years have been a testament to your hard work and determination. As we celebrate this milestone, let us renew our commitment to making the Philippines a safer, more resilient place in the digital world,” he stated during his opening remarks.
