On May 27, 2025, the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) carried out two Warrants to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data (WSSECD) in separate operations targeting establishments allegedly involved in engaging in fraudulent activities.

The first operation took place in San Roque, Antipolo City, Rizal, led by operatives from the PNP ACG – Cyber Response Unit (CRU). This was in connection with a violation of Section 26 of RA No. 8799 (Securities Regulation Code), in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

The said establishment had been under surveillance by the PNP ACG–CRU since 2024, following a report from an Australian national, represented by Internation Foreign Workers Global, regarding an investment scheme that targeted and victimized foreign nationals.

The second operation was conducted in Cebu City by the operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 7 against an establishment posing as a Business Process Outsourcing company, which is a violation of Section 11 of RA No. 11765 (Financial Products and Services Consumer Protection Act of 2022), in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175.

The said establishment drew attention online after a foreign hacktivist and content creator exposed its fraudulent operations, which reportedly targeted victims from South Africa.

Further investigation confirmed that the establishment was undocumented and operating without the necessary permits, as verified by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The operations support the directive of Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, Chief of the PNP, to continue safeguarding the public from cyber-related fraud and hold perpetrators accountable. Police Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the ACG, commended the operatives for the successful operations. He also stated, “These operations demonstrate our commitment to fight fraudulent networks operating under the guise of legitimate businesses. We encourage the public to remain alert and report any suspicious online activities so we can act swiftly to protect our communities from cybercrime.”
